Taking pleasure in making efforts for checks and balances, our team works to make all our fields of work stronger and more visible with the contribution of our members.

Our Research and Development, Advocacy and Field, Mecliste.org and Communication units create content about important developments that related to the Turkish society while working for the implementation of a participatory and transparent legislation process at the same time. Training is given to NGO representatives and citizens on one hand, and active participation-oriented activities are organized on the other. To make all these efforts visible and reach a higher number of citizens, various content is produced on a range of platforms from YouTube videos to social media accounts and podcasts.

In brief, as we leave behind our 10 years, we think different and solve together.

	Hayriye Ataş – CBN Project General Coordinator Obtained her B.A degree in American Studies from Ankara University, and her M.A degree in International Relations and European Studies from Istanbul Bilgi University, CIFE Institute. Worked as a good governance expert in various development projects implemented by the UNDP, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Science Industry and Technology, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the Ministry of Development, AFAD, TODAIE with the European Union funding. Joined CBN Turkey in 2016 and worked as General Director since February, 2019.
	Hakan Yavuzyılmaz – Research and Policy Development Coordinator Received his B.A degree from Bilkent University Political Science and Public Administration Department, M.A degree from Suffolk University in International Relations, PhD from Hacettepe University, department of Political Science. Following his PhD studies, he worked as a post-doctoral researcher at Nottingham University, Department of Politics and International Relations. Currently, he is teaching at Başkent University, Department of Political Science and International Relations. His academic work was published in international journals such as Party Politics and Journal of Balkan and Near Eastern Studies. In 2020, he started working at the CBN as a political analyst. Since May 2021, he has been working at the CBN as Research and Policy Development Coordinator.
	Eren Çağdaş Bilgiç – Mecliste.org Program Coordinator Eren Çağdaş Bilgiç graduated from the Department of Urban Design and Landscape Architecture in Bilkent University. He got an MSc. Degree in Urban Planning Programme in Istanbul Technical University with his thesis entitled “the assessment of basin conservation plan as a tool for ecological resilience”. He still continues his PhD studies City and Regional Planning in METU. Beside his project background, academic career and awards, he took part in project cycles within several NGOs. He joined the CBN team as mecliste.org program coordinator in July 2021.
	Nilüfer Demiroğlu – Advocacy and Field Coordinator She got her bachelor’s degree in International Relations at TOBB University of Economics and Technology. She did internship at TÜSİAD Ankara Representative Office between May 2018 and September 2018. She worked as a Project Assistant at the Checks and Balances Network between May 2020 and March 2021, and as a Fields and Campaigns Associate from April 2021 to September 2022. She has been working as an Advocacy and Field Coordinator at the Checks and Balances Network since October 2022.
	Demet Şöhret Boz – Digital Media and Content Developer She completed her undergraduate education at Ankara University, Faculty of Communication. After working as a social media and content editor in various advertising agencies since 2015, she assumed digital communication specialist task on a project basis at the Civil Society Development Center in 2020. She has been working as social media and content manager at the CBN since June 2021.
	Gözde Ocak – Editor Gözde Ocak is a graduate of Ankara University (Faculty of Language, History and Geography) Sociology department. After graduation, she worked as a publication editor for Aşina Publishing House. She worked as a reporter and then an editor for Anka News agency and Sputnik Turkey Ankara Bureau. She then became Project and Communication Coordinator of Social Democracy Association. She volunteered as an editor for local publications of non-governmental organizations. As of October 2022, she has been an editor of CBN.
	Yeşim Özgel – CBN Project Finance and Administrative Affairs Officer Born in 1975 in Ankara. Completed her primary, secondary and high school education at Private Yükseliş College. In 2000, graduated from the Department of Economics of Anadolu University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. Between 2001 and 2011, worked in different positions such as pharmaceutical representative, regional manager and sales manager. Between 2011 and 2016, worked as an executive assistant. Between January 2017 and March 2019, she worked as Logistics and Administrative Affairs Officer at the Checks and Balances Network secretariat. She has been working as Financial and Administrative Affairs Officer since April 2019.
	Mert Demir – Project Assistant He completed his undergraduate education in 2022 at Başkent University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Political Science and International Relations. Between August 2022 - October 2022, he worked as an intern at the Checks and Balances Network. He has been working as a Project Assistant at the Checks and Balances Network since October 2022.
	Yasemin Bingöl - Officer She was born in 1970 in Ardahan. She has been working as an office manager at CBN since 2014.
