Fundraising

How do we raise funds?

As it is the case with all its operations and decision-making processes, the Checks and Balances Network (CBN) takes transparency and accountability as the basis about its funding sources. The CBN finds it important to diversify its funding sources as much as it wishes to diversify its network. Funds of the CBN come from national and international donors that also provide funds to many NGOs and government bodies in Turkey.

Sources of funds to apply to are determined according to strategic priorities and work programs of the CBN. Fund sources may accept or reject project proposals; however, they do not intervene in content. All activities are carried out in line with the network’s principles, targets, programs and calendar. Activities are transparent and visible.

No funds are transferred to any NGO that is a member of the CNB so that it can carry out its own campaign and work. Members carry out their work by using their own funds. In-kind contributions are provided by the Istanbul Policy Center (IPM), which also employs the staff members.
